The JC1272 is the final incarnation of a circuit I designed a few years ago and have been building, tweaking and perfecting ever since. Its simple design is based on the 2-gain stages found in the classic Neve* 1272 buss amplifier. Unlike most every 1272-based mic amp on the market the JC1272 is capable of delivering full, authoritative tone up to 65dB without the noise, distortion and bandwidth penalties of other higher-gain 1272-type designs.
